INDIAN RUPEES SYMBOL


::::: The symbol is designed by B.Arch. Student of visual communication of IIT Mumbai, named as D.UDAYA KUMAR son of N. DHARMALINGAM a former DNK, MLA. The selection process was challenged under the Right of Information Act in the Delhi High Court. The sign of rupees is derived the DEVANAGARI CONSONENT. . and introduced by capital "R" by removing one vertical line and added two horizontal lines on the top and white space between them, are said to make an allusion to the tricolour(INDIAN FLAG ),and symbolize the nations desire to reduce economic disparity. The coins with new indian rupees symbol came into circulation in july 2010
